The kids are grown and gone, and retirement is on the horizon. Maybe it’s time to start thinking about making a move from that large van or SUV to something that fits your new lifestyle. Here are some options we recommend when you downsize to a smaller vehicle.
2019 Dodge Journey
The 2019 Dodge Journey is an affordable crossover and a
great next step when transitioning from a large vehicle to a smaller one. Even
though it’s smaller than other SUVs, you won’t feel cramped in the Journey with
its generous head- and leg-space, as well as ample cargo space. There’s versatile
in-floor storage for extra luggage and travelling equipment when you visit
The second- and third-row seats fold down, which gives you
up to 67.6 cubic feet of space to store those must-have items from the flea
market or those potted plants that were on clearance at the garden center.
2019 Dodge Challenger
If you don’t really need much space anymore, but style is a priority,
consider the 2019 Dodge Challenger. This sporty car can take you on exciting
rides with four-wheel drive and best-in-class horsepower through various V6 and
V8 options. Enjoy your next road trip with the up-to-date technology package
including Uconnect 4C NAV which offers navigation, hands-free calling and Apple
CarPlay® or Android Auto™ phone integration.
2019 Dodge Charger
If you are serious about losing the soccer mom vibe, the
2019 Dodge Charger will do it for you. This is the classic American muscle car.
It comes with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 Engine, but an assortment of HEMI V8s
are available too. The Charger is just
as beautiful as it is powerful, with a sleek style that hugs the road. It’s
definitely not a car made for large families.

This September, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles announced two new special edition 2020 Jeep® Wranglers: the Black & Tan and the Willys editions.
The Jeep® Wrangler Black & Tan edition is
brand new for 2020 and sports a number of low-gloss exterior paint colors and a
distinctive tan soft top. The new trims include additional exterior features
like side steps for easy access, all-terrain tires, and 17-inch Machine Granite
wheels. The Black & Tan design is interwoven into the cabin of the
Wrangler, too: you’ll find a sporty Wizard Black instrument panel and gorgeous
Heritage Tan seats.
The Willys special edition 2020 Jeep® Wrangler – a returning favorite – captures the rugged spirit of the Jeep brand with its off-road-ready features. It utilizes 32-inch mud terrain tires from Firestone, Rubicon shocks and rail racks, and a Command-Trac 4×4 transfer case. The Willys decal on the hood is complemented by other striking exterior features like LED headlights, a black gloss grille, and black 17-inch wheels. The Willys edition is available in ten colors so you can choose your preferred style.

Shopping for a new car? One of the first things you’ll need
to narrow down is which type of vehicle type is right for you. These include
trucks, SUV, and sedans, but there are also some basic distinctions that many
car shoppers are unfamiliar with. For instance, what’s the difference between
and SUV or a crossover? What distinguishes a sedan from a hatchback or coupe?
According to Car and Bike, the differences between a sedan, hatchback, and coupe has to do with space and exterior design. A hatchback often has the most cargo space, as the trunk connects to the cabin and opens upward like a liftgate (hatchbacks are often called five-door models). A sedan has four doors, and a coupe has two, though the actual distinction between the two is rear seating volume: A sedan has at least 33 cubic feet of interior space, but a coupe has less than that.
The distinction between an SUV and crossover is a little
less clear, often because many manufacturers use the terms interchangeably.
However, an SUV is technically built on a truck platform, with the body and
chassis as separate components. A crossover has a unibody design, which means
the body and chassis are connected (it’s usually a car platform, too). SUVs are
more rugged, but crossovers are more efficient.

The toys are back this summer with the release of Toy Story 4. To honor the return of
these beloved characters, Chrysler and Pixar’s Toy Story teamed up for an ad campaign promoting the Chrysler
Woody, Buzz, and all their pals appear in a new Pacifica commercial.
After the human passengers exit the van, the toys spring to life and engage in
a spirited dance party. There are familiar faces, such as the long-lost Bo
Peep, along with new additions to the franchise, such as the spork-based Forky.
It’s a fun way to promote the spirit of the Pacifica minivan.
Toy Story teaming up with Chrysler to promote the Pacifica shows off the space and features that the Pacifica provides, making it the perfect family vehicle. You can watch the Toy Story Pacifica promotion on the automaker’s YouTube channel.
In Toy Story 4,
Woody learns what it truly means to be a toy when his new kid, Bonnie, creates
a new plaything out of arts and crafts in school. His journey will reunite him
with familiar faces, while introducing some new characters.
If you’d like to see how the Chrysler Pacifica is perfect for you and your crew, bring them to Tom Kelley CDJR.
Pickup trucks are on the rise, and Ram is one
of the brands experiencing the most growth. With so many competitors in the
industry releasing different models, packages, and trims, it would seem
there’s a pickup truck for everything. There is a hole in the market, however.
In a place where luxury trucks and off-road trims are commonplace, track-ready
performance has been overlooked. Ram might be hoping to fill that void with a
Ram SRT-10 successor.
While other brands invest time and money in the off-road pickup truck segment, enthusiasts clamor for the days when more sporty, performance-oriented trucks were around for those who prefer to stay on the pavement. The Ram SRT-10 offered the same V10 engine found in the Dodge Viper and a 0-60 time of only 4.9 seconds. What better way to combine track-ready performance with pickup truck capability than to build its successor?
Right now, Ram is hard at work on the Rebel
TRX, a powerful, full-size off-roader, to compete with others on the market. A
closer look at the Rebel TRX could give us insight to what a Ram SRT-10
successor could be. The new truck even packs a supercharged Hellcat V8 engine
under the hood. Could a street-performance pickup be getting a Hellcat engine,
too? While Ram representatives won’t confirm that a new SRT-10 is coming, they
won’t deny it either.
While the Rebel TRX isn’t ready to drive home with you, contact us at Tom Kelley Chrysler Dodge Jeep® Ram to earn more about the current Ram truck lineup.
There is something about a wide body on a sports car that
just gives it an aggressive, powerful look. If you have been wanting this look
on a Dodge Charger, you won’t have to wait any longer. Dodge has announced two
wide-body Charger models for the 2020 model year: the R/T Scat Pack and SRT
Dodge says the two new models have “radically redesigned”
side sills and fascias in order to add the new wide-body parts. The unique
models will also have retuned suspensions. A unique dual-snorkel grille with an
upper intake will complete the bold, new look.
According to Motor Trend, the wide-body models will come standard with launch control and 20×11-inch wheels. Under the hood, the Scat Pack model will come with a 6.4-liter V8 rated at 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. As for the Hellcat, it has even more power with its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that delivers 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It’s possible there may be a 797-horsepower Redeye version available later.
The Scat Pack models will come standard with Brembo®
high-performance brakes, a heavy-duty engine cooling system, and a limited-slip
rear differential. The Hellcat model adds an upgraded suspension and steering
